AI agents for business

We build AI agents into the work your team already does: answering routine questions, preparing drafts, reading documents and moving data between systems. Each AI step has structured outputs, checks and a fallback, and a person approves anything that would be expensive to get wrong.

Sound familiar?

  • Your team reads and re-types documents, emails or forms every day.
  • You want an AI assistant or agent that works with your own data and systems.
  • A promising AI prototype needs to become reliable enough for daily use.
  • Your data is sensitive and cannot be sent to a public model without control.

What this covers.

We start with one workflow, measure it against the way it is done today and only then extend it. If a simpler rule-based solution works better, we will tell you.

  • Document processing

Invoices, contracts and forms classified, read field by field and checked against your rules.

  • AI agents and workflows

Agents that carry out multi-step tasks across your systems, with permissions, logs and a human check where needed.

  • Assistants and search

Answers grounded in your documents and data, with sources, for your team or your customers.

  • AI features in your product

Generation, extraction and recommendations built into an existing product, with usage limits and cost control.

  • Models under your control

Where data must not leave your infrastructure, we can host an open model in your cloud and test it against the same examples.

How an AI integration project runs

We start with one workflow and a set of real cases. Before writing any prompts, we collect examples from your work, such as documents, emails or questions, each with the answer a careful person would give. Cases with known answers are more useful than a long specification, because they become the test the AI has to pass.

From you we need those examples, a person who can say what a correct answer looks like, and access to the systems the workflow reads from and writes to. We also agree what the AI must never do on its own, such as sending an email, paying an invoice or changing a customer record. Those steps wait for a person's approval.

The first stage builds the workflow and an evaluation set from your examples. Each week you see results on that set: which cases it gets right, which it gets wrong and why, and the cost per case at current model prices. The workflow goes live only when its results are good enough for the agreed use, and you decide what good enough means.

What happens when the AI is wrong

It will be wrong sometimes. Models are probabilistic: the same input can give different outputs, and a confident answer can be false. The design question is not how to make the model perfect, but how to catch a wrong answer before it costs money.

We use several layers. The model returns data in a fixed schema, and anything that does not fit is rejected. Your business rules run as normal code on the output: totals must add up, dates must be valid, a supplier must already exist. Values the model is unsure about are marked, and a case with a doubtful field goes to a person. Every call is traced with its input, output, model version and cost, so a bad result can be found, explained and added to the evaluation set.

Before a prompt or model change goes live, it runs against the evaluation set, and a drop in accuracy blocks the release. The same set lets us compare models and move to a cheaper one when it does the job just as well.

Our AI document checks product is built this way. Documents are classified and their fields extracted with Claude, and values the model was unsure about are shown as such. The checks are deterministic code, not another model call. Classifications, extractions, corrections and check runs are append-only, so history is never overwritten. In the AI product generator, generated SVG is sanitised before it is stored, and the first version priced each product from a fixed markup plus the model cost of making it.

What you get at handover, and what happens after

The workflow runs in your accounts, with model usage billed to your own API key. You get the code, the prompts under version control, the evaluation set and the script that runs it, and the tracing dashboard. The runbook covers how to review flagged cases, add an example when the AI gets something wrong, change a rule and check the cost per case.

Models change and providers retire versions. Because the evaluation set is yours, you or your developer can test a new model against your own cases before switching, instead of trusting a provider's announcement. Monthly support covers model updates, new examples and monitoring, or your team takes them over.

AI is not always the answer:

  • The steps follow clear rules with no reading or judgement? Business process automation is simpler and cheaper to run.
  • The real problem is data that never reaches the right system? Start with API & system integrations.
  • AI is the core of a new product rather than a step in your operations? See MVP development.

A call, a fixed quote, weekly progress.

You describe the problem on a 30-minute call and get a written fixed quote. We build in fixed-price stages and show working software every week, then hand over the code, infrastructure and documentation on your accounts. See all five steps.

AI agents & integration: questions.

How much does AI integration cost?

One AI workflow or agent in production usually costs $6,000–15,000 and takes two to four weeks. Model usage is paid directly by you, and we estimate it before the build.

How do you make AI reliable enough for real work?

Structured outputs instead of free text, validation against your rules, tests on real examples, tracing of every call and a human review step wherever a mistake would cost money.

Is our data safe?

We use API terms that exclude training on your data and keep data in your own accounts. When data must not leave your infrastructure, we can host an open model in your cloud instead.

Which AI models do you use?

We choose per task and test alternatives: Anthropic and OpenAI models through their APIs, and open models when they are good enough or the data requires it.

What is the difference between an AI agent and an automation?

An automation follows fixed rules. An agent decides which steps to take within the limits you set. We use agents only where that flexibility is worth the extra checks.

Do we actually need an AI agent?

Often not. If the steps are always the same, a plain automation is cheaper, faster and easier to trust, and we will recommend it. An agent earns its place when the work needs reading, judgement or choosing between tools.

Can you add AI to our existing product?

Yes. We add AI features behind your existing authentication and data model, with limits on usage and cost, and measure whether people actually use them.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes. We are happy to sign your NDA before you share the details.

When can you start?

We confirm the start date in the written quote, once the scope is agreed. We don't promise a date before we know the work.

Is design included?

Where the work has screens, yes: wireframes and interface design for the agreed scope are part of the fixed price. Brand identity or a full design system are quoted separately if you need them.
